Writer of The Feminism of a Soft Merlot
Micheline Auger is a writer and actress who has performed her solo work at Highways Performance Complex (Los Angeles), New York Fringe Festival and the Westside and Miranda Theaters in New York. She was seen on HBO in the short film Stalker Guilt Syndrome and was the lead in Warmth, which won Best Alternative Film at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Student Film Academy Awards. Her first play POOP - A True Story won an Audience Favorite Award in the 2003 NY Fringe Festival and she has been a finalist for Juilliard's Playwriting program in 2004 and 2006 for her first and second plays. She was a finalist for this year’s Public Theatre’s Emerging Artist Writers Group with her submission of her third full-length play, American River. American River grew from a short play entitled Happy Girl (Sam French ’07) and was developed in rehearsals with director Kel Haney and the Director’s Company sponsored KNF Festival (Aug. ’07) Her short play Dick was featured in The Drilling Company's 2006 Refinery Festival and was subsequently produced by Next Theater Company. Dick is currently being produced as a short film aimed for the festival circuit ‘08, a trailer of which can be seen at whatproductions.org.
