Dulce Maria Solis was born a bastard in Mexico City, Mexico under the auspice of the Red Cross. At age three, when Coyotes were still inexpensive, and Mexico was not the carte that it is now, Dulce Maria crossed the Rio Grande on a tire Lube. Dulce Maria remained an illegal immigrant in the United States for several years before becoming legal. Under her illegal status she enjoyed many names, her favorite being, Marie Barrientos because kids could call her a merry burrito.
Dulce’s first acting debut came at the tender age of eight, when upon a dare she called 911 to inform them her husband had just been electrocuted. The believable performance brought the paramedics, the police and caught the attention of the neighborhood. A star was born.
But Dulce did not make the necessary move to give her the overnight success she deserved until 2005. When asked why the move to Los Angeles took her so long she replies, ‘I was too busy making up for a lousy childhood, you know reading lots of self-help books and raising my serotonin levels.”
NOW in Los Angeles, Dulce has done stand-up in many of the cities hottest venues. In 2006 she won the Queen Mary Comic Contest. She has also appeared in several independent films. Her claim to fame is that she played an East Indian Taxi driver who gets jipped by the lead character in the film Play the Game starring Andy Griffin (Yes he is still alive, at least at the time of this biography).
Currently Dulce has a comedic internet series So LA with Sister Galina and is working on bringing her award- winning bilingual one –woman show, Chela to the Los Angeles audience .
