Submissions for our 2008 original full-length play are due by Saturday, March 30th. Artistic Director Phil Kelly has a few thoughts on what we're looking for:
"We'll be seeking specifically a theatrical piece that will highlight the female talent base of our company. If it's an all female cast that's extraordinary, but a show that's 80% female will also be looked at. Something with more than four characters will also be a plus. It must be something that will connect with a modern Los Angeles based community, though some urban settings are universal enough that we might be able to fudge it. The full length original work will most likely face the technical restraints of a black box theatre, so character-driven pieces with a good story are ideal. Also, we're seeking unpublished shows, but will consider shows that have had a small production run elsewhere. All original works depending on where the script is at and how much we love the idea may have the opportunity for work shopping with in company actors. When you submit your show include a three line synopsis of what the show is about, a breakdown of the characters, and your bio and resume. Thanks and get typing."
